Full Flower Moon Hike
Foraging in the Hudson Valley
Join Hudson Highlands Nature Center educator Adam for a foraging walk through the woods. Learn what plants provide food, medicine, or resources in New York. Be prepared to bushwack off trail and taste some interesting wild edibles.
Wilderness Survival 101
Learn simple but crucial wilderness survival skills including building a shelter, basic fire building techniques, and other important general survival knowledge. For adults and children ages 7 and up.
Mother's Day Nature Walk
Join Environmental Educators to learn all about mothers and babies of the animal kingdom. Explore the fields and ponds to see if you can spot some amazing mothers in nature and seek out the sights and sounds of Spring on a guided walk along the stroller friendly trails. After our nature walk, each family will plant their own sunflower to take home and care for as it grows. Feel free to bring a picnic lunch for after the program.

Venture out on a guided moonlit walk to discover the sights and sounds of nature under the Full Flower Moon. Learn the many names for the May full moon and the lore behind them. Enjoy the trails before sunset and watch the moonrise over the fields and forest of the Outdoor Discovery Campus. Bring a flashlight and dress for the weather.
History of Kenridge Farm
Delve into the long farm history of the Outdoor Discovery Campus once known as Kenridge Farm. Educator will demonstrate the tools of the time while taking you a guided hike through the fields that were once bountiful with livestock & crops.

Bug Safari
Calling scientists of all ages for some exciting field work! Join Nature Educators for a trek through the fields to catch bugs with a process known as 'Sweep Netting.' Get up close to make observations in order to identify them using provided field guides, and sketch & label your favorite catch of the day. After the insects have been studied, we'll release them back into the wild!
International Mud Day
Welcome Summer with a mud-riffic day of play in Grasshopper Grove! Join children in countries around the globe in celebrating this day of splashing, rolling, squishing, sliding, and appreciating nature and the great outdoors! Be sure to bring a towel, a change of clothes, and your imagination!

Join Nature Educators to learn all about these incredible insects, their awesome adaptations, and how helpful they really are. Then head out to help hand release native ladybugs into the fields and gardens!
